Celebrating the life of a Champion Bridge Builder
This Saturday 2/17, join us for the public celebration of Rowland Rebele’s life at Cabrillo College at 1:00 pm in the Crocker Theater. Rowland was a champion advocate for the unhoused and was instrumental in helping us start the Association of Faith Communities 14 years ago. Rowland continued his philanthropic support of the AFC up to his passing on November 25th of last year. He was also an active participant in Stillpoint meditation and came to our quarterly meditations several times. His impact in Santa Cruz is immeasurable. He will be deeply missed. I consider myself privileged to to have been his friend. We all benefited from his love and generosity. The above photo captures well the smiles of Rowland and his beloved wife of over 70 years, and brings back many fond memories.
Bagels and Lox
We will resume our distribution of bagels, socks and lox the following Saturday with our regular route from my townhouse along the San Lorenzo River up to the Clock Tower on 2/24 at 12:15pm
Stillpoint does not have a stockpile of clothing, socks or bedding. Nothing remains in stock for more than a week so we do need your donations. If you have any items to donate, please do so. Stillpoint and the unhoused community are grateful for all that you send our way. If you would like to support us financially in our bridge-building ministry of bagels and lox, know that salmon and cream cheese are dear. But our clientele is worth it. We are all created in the image of God and according to Albert Einstein we are all geniuses. Contact us at Stillpoint: Joel@stillpoint.world or (831)419-8290 or https://stillpoint.world
