Helping people through life transitions

Gentle support for the ordinary and extraordinary changes of life.

As a retired priest, I have spent my life working with people through difficult, as well as ordinary, transitions. Stillpoint offers a place to slow down, listen inwardly and reconnect with resources that can be easy to lose sight of during change.

  • New family life and changing relationships
  • Changes of job, vocation or direction
  • Discovering or rediscovering our true selves
  • Death, grief and loss
  • Periods of uncertainty, stress or spiritual transition

Why Stillpoint

Sustainable peace. Profound engagement.

Stillpoint is an invitation to sustainable peace and profound engagement with the community where you live.

At its heart, Stillpoint is a practice of guided exploration toward sustainable peace, deeper inner resources and meaningful engagement with the community. Core Transformation is one of the methodologies used within that practice.

I am a certified Core Transformation life coach.

Over the years, I have discovered that giving back to the community and meditation by themselves were not enough to maintain an ongoing sense of inner peace and purpose.

Thomas Merton coined the phrase “still point” to point towards an inner state of accessible joy and peace that isn’t dependent on any outcome or end result.

Hence the name Stillpoint: a profound engagement of service in your community and sustainable peace.

The Apostle Paul described this core state as the peace that passes understanding.

You may call that inner resource enlightenment, joy, oneness, wholeness or maybe just “okayness.” Whatever phrase you use, it is something that is not dependent on anything else.

Meditation & Personal Growth

Perhaps you already have a community to do meditation with and you are already actively engaged in service in your community. Carry on with that noble work.

If not I invite you to join our community and discover a new dimension of meditation and personal growth. I especially invite you to explore Core Transformation as a resource of ongoing wellness and purpose.

Core Transformation has been a tool that has transformed my life over the past 5 years.

No longer am I a wound-up, semi-retired priest in the Episcopal Church running after elusive goals of achievement and success.

Core Transformation has allowed me to come home to myself.

I can be present with my family and friends and enjoy long walks with my dog. All the while I am deeply engaged in service to the community in which I live.

Core Transformation is gentle and non-invasive and if nothing else most people find it relaxing. Core Transformation is non-sectarian and recognizes the wisdom in all spiritual traditions—or No spiritual tradition…

Service in the Community

If you are already giving back to the community, please don’t feel any pressure from Stillpoint to drop the good work you are already doing to join us.

I have been working to support and advocate for the unhoused for 16 years, and founded the Association of Faith Communities while I was rector at Calvary Episcopal Church.

Since moving to Saint Louis I still support the work of the AFC and many other ministries to the unhoused in Santa Cruz and am just beginning that work in prison ministry and outreach to the homeless here in Saint Louis where I have lived since 2025.

We also solicit your financial investment in Stillpoint, or perhaps you would like to explore personal growth through Core Transformation.

Silence, Scripture & Community

Meditation is foundational for a healthy spiritual life, both individually and communally.

I have always been impressed that Jesus carved out time to be alone in silence as he was going about changing the world.

This also seems to be the lesson that Elijah learned thousands of years ago when he found God in “utter silence” on Mount Horeb.

You are invited to join our community of Centering Prayer weekly on Zoom or regular workshops on meditation and Bible Study.

A guided conversation with our inner selves

Core Transformation

A gentle, non-invasive process that helps people explore the deeper positive intentions behind thoughts, feelings and behaviors — without demanding a particular belief system.

Core Transformation can be used by people who are religious, spiritual, agnostic or atheist. The process respects the person and their deepest wishes, and many people experience it as calming, compassionate and deeply restorative.

1

Recognize inner resources

Explore the positive intentions and deeper resources beneath an issue rather than fighting against yourself.

2

Gentle and respectful

The process is collaborative, non-invasive and designed to respect your values, beliefs and internal wisdom.

3

Experience meaningful shifts

Clients often notice increased relaxation, perspective and access to deeper states of wellbeing beginning with the work itself.

Prayer, presence and community

Stillpoint is not about retreating from the world. It is about becoming grounded enough to meet the world with greater presence, compassion and service.

Centering Prayer & Meditation

Meditation is foundational for a healthy spiritual life, individually and communally. Jesus repeatedly carved out time to be alone in silence while doing the work of ministry; Elijah encountered God in “utter silence.”

You are invited to join Stillpoint's community of Centering Prayer weekly on Zoom, along with regular workshops focused on meditation and Bible study.
